Where to stay

Bienvenidos a La Ciudad de La Furia

Here are a handful of neighborhoods we recommend you consider in our beautiful city. Each has its perks but in all of them you'll find gorgeous Airbnbs at a great price.

Palermo

This tree-lined, international neighborhood is bursting with speciality cafes, restaurants, and bars. It's also the most English friendly neighborhood of Buenos Aires, making it an easy first step into life in Argentina. Palermo has expanded through the years and now includes such subsections as Soho, Hollywood, and Viejo, but you'll get a similar experience in each one.

Villa Crespo

A trendy, cool neighborhood situated between hip Palermo and local Caballito (the neighborhood of los novios). Villa Crespo is a calmer version of Palermo, with fewer people and restaurants, though you're always within walking distance of a good cafe or bar.

Chacarita

Recently featured in a New York Times piece, Chacarita is the city's current king of trendy restaurants and cafes. You may miss the traditional Argentine experience here, though you'll instead get a feel for the creativity of the young generation opening up restaurants and cafes.

Recoleta

Although a bit more isolated on the northeast side of the city, this neighborhood makes up for its distance with its incredible, Parisian inspired architecture. Recoleta is filled with important parks, museums, and old-school porteño restaurants.

Activities to Consider:

1. Go to the San Telmo market (be mindful of pickpockets!)

2. See a show or do the tour at Teatro Colon

3. Go to Recoleta Cemetery

4. Grab a book at El Ateneo

5. Go to a tango show

6. See Latin America's biggest stadium at the River Plate museum

7. Drink mate in one of the many gorgeous parks

And here's a starting place for food to try while you're in town.
